Resource persons included faculty from UL University, Faculty from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and Fire Safety Specialists from the related industry. The attendees were from Fire safety organizations, building code and public health officials, fire protection engineers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers and installers of fire protection equipment. The audience also comprised of insurance company personnel, university faculty, students, architects, structural engineers and government disaster management officials.
This lecture cum workshop was organized by Combustion, Gasification and Propulsion Laboratory, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). This was a 2-day program, commencing from March 10, 2011 and ending on March-11,2011. The attendees included the faculty members from engineering colleges which are categorized under deemed universities, academically autonomous college and VTU affiliated colleges. The workshop goal was to introduce the concept of the production and usage of bioenergy and a discussion on the various approaches of including them in Engineering courses.
It was organized by Fire Research Laboratory, Roorkee in collaboration JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). The duration was 2 days, from 3-4 November, 2011. The conference included a wide range of topics related to scientific and technological developments in active and passive fire protection and predictive methods to mitigate the fire risk. The conference focus was on the importance of issues of fire safety science and engineering present day context. An interactive knowledge-sharing session between the practicing fire professionals, researchers and academicians to arrive at solutions for improved fire safety in built environment was also a part of this event.
This was another 2-day long workshop organized by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in February 2014.. The participants included scientists from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, IIT Madras, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDL) labs.
Fire and Combustion Research Center of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in collaboration with UL-India organized a five-day workshop on Certified Fire Forensic Program (CFFP) from 11 December to 15 December 2017 in the college premises. CFFP is designed for a niche target group such as architect/equipment specifiers, code authorities, fire fighting product designers, and product managers, fire/risk engineering staff, fire service personnel including risk analysts and system integrators.
