Bengaluru, 22 January 2026: Students of Hindi Parishad - Animesh from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Hindi Department emerged as Overall Champions at Nakshatra Fest, a prestigious inter-collegiate cultural and literary festival hosted by St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (SJCC). The event brought together institutions from across the region, providing a competitive platform for literary discourse, creative expression, and cultural performance.
Nakshatra Fest is recognised as a vibrant inter-collegiate forum that blends literature, language, and performing arts. The delegation from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) competed across five categories: Paper Presentation, Bhasha Sampada, Antakshari, Dub-an-Ad, and Folk Dance, demonstrating versatility and strong collaborative skills.
The students delivered an outstanding performance, securing First Prize in Bhasha Sampada, Antakshari, and Folk Dance, along with a Third Prize in the Dub-an-Ad category. Their consistent excellence across multiple events led to the university being awarded the Overall Championship and the First Place Trophy.
The achievements reflect the depth of preparation, cultural awareness, and creative engagement fostered through the university’s student forums. Bengaluru, 20 January 2026: JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, and the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC), Bengaluru, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, during the BBC 2.0 Catalyst Connect Event held at the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre, Helix Biotech Park, Electronic City Phase I.
The MoU aims to strengthen academic–industry collaboration in the life sciences by promoting bio-entrepreneurship, translational research, and the commercialisation of university-developed technologies. The partnership seeks to integrate academic research excellence with industry-oriented incubation, innovation, and startup support.
BBC is a Government of Karnataka–supported, non-profit bio-incubation centre established under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, and funded by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka, with support from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The centre provides advanced incubation infrastructure, central instrumentation facilities, and mentorship support to startups across life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medtech, agriculture, food and nutrition, and biotechnology domains.
JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), notified by the Ministry of Education, Government of India under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, is recognised for excellence in education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a strong focus on life sciences and biotechnology.
Under the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on joint research and development programmes, support the creation of technology-driven startups and spinouts, and facilitate the protection and commercialisation of intellectual property. The MoU also emphasises student development through internships, industry projects, and hands-on training within BBC’s startup ecosystem.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering innovation-led growth, strengthening the life sciences ecosystem, and translating academic research into impactful commercial solutions.
Bengaluru, 19th January 2026: The Cadets of 1 Company, Karnataka Battalion NCC Headquarters, and Platoon No.1 organised a felicitation ceremony to honour Sergeant Prerana Mukund Sonale, who won the Silver Medal in Map Reading at the All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC) 2025. The event was held at the School of Sciences, JC Road Campus, under the guidance of ANO Major Dr Rekha Sinha.
The ceremony commenced with the assembly of cadets, followed by a brief orientation outlining the programme. Sergeant Sonale was accorded a warm welcome, after which an introduction highlighted her NCC journey and achievements. A short documentary was screened, showcasing her dedication, perseverance, and accomplishments at various levels.
A formal felicitation followed, recognising her outstanding achievement and the laurels she brought to the Company. Addressing the gathering, ANO Major Dr Rekha Sinha expressed pride in Sergeant Sonale’s success, while her father also extended gratitude to the University for its support towards NCC activities.
Sergeant Prerana Mukund Sonale then addressed the cadets, sharing her journey and motivating them with insights on discipline, hard work, and passion. The programme concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the values of excellence, dedication, and leadership among the cadets.

JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and SoDMCA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Eonten Studios. The signing ceremony took place at the SoDMCA campus in the presence of Mr. Subramaniam Venkat, co-founder of Eonten Studios, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Registrar, Mr. Sathish Narayanan, CEO, Dr. Suman, and Mr. Varunan from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). This collaboration stands as a testament to their shared vision.
The primary objective of this MOU is to bridge the gap between industry and academia, creating a dynamic learning environment beyond traditional classrooms. Numerous projects are slated to be undertaken as part of this collaboration, including the incubation of a studio and the development of specialized courses for both students and faculty.
JAIN (Deemed to be University) conducted its 12th convocation for the academic year 2022. A community of 6629 students were a part of the convocation, out of which 125 students were presented with gold medals and 329 rank holders were honoured by the University. Sana Greeshma, a student pursuing B.Tech at the faculty of engineering and technology, notches the highest remuneration package of 32 Lakhs/PA at the JSOL Corporation (Japan) during campus placement.
