Eligibility

The minimum qualification required to apply is a pass in the 10+2 examination from any stream of study (Science / Commerce / Arts) from PUC / ISC / CBSE or any other equivalent board recognised by the state/central Government.

Overview

B.A. Economics at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is an undergraduate programme integrated with International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) certification. The programme is structured as per the New Education Policy (NEP) and offers 163 credits, spread over eight semesters.

The Bachelor of Arts programme offers 163 credits, spread over 8 semesters consisting of Twenty-Four courses (CC), seven Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), three Value Added Courses (VAC), four General Electives (GE), and two English courses (language). Specialisation in Quantitative Economics, Development Economics, and Applied Macro Economics and Research will be offered during the 7th and 8th semesters.  The programme is designed as a terminal one for students to take up diverse jobs in industry, research institutes, banks, and financial institutions. The programme offers integrated coaching from National Academy of IAS for UPSC examinations to take up government jobs (UPSC Coaching will be provided at an extra cost). The students are also encouraged to pursue higher education and research.
