The postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology is a programme designed to advance psychology theory, human development and evidence-based counselling practice. The programme builds expertise in core domains: lifespan development, general and health psychology, behavioural disorders, and specialised counselling. Students gain a deep understanding of client needs and practice contemporary therapeutic approaches under the guidance of industry experts.
The programme focuses on engaging students in counselling, skills training, and applied workshops. Two extensive internship components of the programme enable students to work directly with industry experts and the community through institutional and clinical settings. The hands-on model adapted for the postgraduate diploma in counselling psychology moves beyond theory and builds a strong clinical and academic foundation for students through continuous mentorship, intervention planning, and ethical practice.
The curriculum offers to expand the learners' perspectives through modules in Indian Psychology, cross-cultural counselling, and environmental psychology, as well as a guided minor project. Graduates of this programme are trained to thrive in professional roles in counselling environments. They are eligible to pursue advanced degrees, such as an MA or MSc in Psychology, opening diverse opportunities in clinical, counselling, organisational, and applied psychology.
