Master of Science

“The qualification required to apply for the program is a minimum of 50% marks in the respective bachelor’s degree or any Life course from a recognized university. Students who are pursuing final year bachelor’s program are also eligible to apply” for MSc Biotechnology

Biotechnology has emerged as one of the most prominent branches of science. It caters to the food and beverage industry, the health industry, medical and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, nutrition, environmental conservation etc.

The Biotechnology course at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is designed to equip students with all the tools and techniques, in theory, and practical sessions of modern biology for application in industry and agriculture. The highlight of the course is that, in addition to formal classroom teaching, well-planned lab sessions, and interactive tutorials, exposure to experimental tools used in the biotechnology industry and research is provided through a carefully designed industry-centric curriculum. Students develop problem solving and decision making skills and scientific aptitude through this course. The course is designed in a way that it imparts knowledge about the application of Biotechnology in various industries.

Course Highlights

  • Understand the principles that underlie various reactions and processes in plants, animals, and humans
  • Gain knowledge in advancing areas like bioenergetics and enzymology
  • In-depth understanding of biochemical, molecular biological, and genetic processes
  • Develop an aptitude to carry out research, and analytical and interpretation skills
