Dr. Chenraj Roychand, Chancellor of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), is a renowned educationist, entrepreneur, angel investor, and philanthropist with over four decades of pioneering leadership. Driven by an unwavering vision to cultivate educational excellence, he has founded and developed numerous prominent institutions across India, with JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) as a leading example.
A champion of entrepreneurship, Dr. Roychand established multiple incubation centres and angel-investing platforms, mentoring young innovators and guiding students to transform ideas into successful ventures, which have generated thousands of jobs in recent years. His dedication extends to sports, enabling student-athletes to excel in academics and athletics, leading to the University producing Olympians, Paralympians, and hundreds of national and international sportspersons.
As a proactive social leader, Dr. Roychand is committed to philanthropy and impactful initiatives in healthcare, education, sustainable livelihood, and social development. His exemplary contributions have earned him multiple prestigious awards, including the Rotary Vocational Service Award, the Dr. B C Roy Award, SEVAK Award for Service to Humanity, Rajasthan Youth Association Award for Service in Education Sector, Seva Ratna Award by Centurion Trust, and the Kempegowda Award. He has also been the recipient of an honorary Doctor of Literature degree from Mangalore University. In 2024, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, presented Dr. Chenraj Roychand with the prestigious Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar 2023 award for identifying and encouraging budding sports talents. Dr. Roychand also serves on the governing board of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), further amplifying his legacy in nation-building through education and social responsibility.
