Our research strategies are designed to nurture innovation, integrate disciplines, and create solutions that matter, locally and globally.
The most transformative research emerges at the intersections of disciplines. Our Centre for Nano and Material Sciences (CNMS) integrates chemistry, physics, and engineering to develop advanced nanomaterials, such as seaweed-based supercapacitors and graphene-inspired organoelectronic materials, addressing energy storage and sustainable technology. Similarly, the Centre for Research in Pure & Applied Sciences (CRPAS) blends biotechnology, computational biology, and environmental science to design nanocurcumin drug delivery systems and stem-cell-based regenerative therapies.
By bridging traditional boundaries, our researchers tackle complex problems such as renewable energy solutions, biomedical challenges, and environmental sustainability, with holistic and practical strategies.
Explore Interdisciplinary Projects
At JAIN, research is not only about discovery, it is about real-world impact. The Centre for Aerospace and Engineering has developed a wireless intra-aircraft communication system and digital twin models for gas turbine diagnostics in collaboration with DRDO and ARDB, enhancing the safety and reliability of Indian aerospace systems. The Fire & Combustion Research Centre (FCRC), in partnership with Underwriters Laboratories (UL), has conducted over 300 foam and dry chemical powder qualification studies, contributing directly to national fire safety standards and industrial applications.
Our strategy prioritises moving from bench to application, ensuring that intellectual insights generate patents, technologies, and startups that benefit society and industry alike.
Explore Impact Research
We strategically engage with leading national and international institutions to amplify research impact. From NT Labs (Belarus/Lithuania) in GNSS algorithm development to Forum of Federations (Canada) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in social sciences and governance research, our collaborations foster knowledge exchange, joint publications, and high-impact projects. Visiting scientists, international PhD scholars, and global workshops strengthen cross-cultural learning and position JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) as a hub for internationally relevant research.
See Our Global Collaborations
Our research strategies extend beyond laboratories and publications. Through structured PhD mentorship, undergraduate research programs like Aavishkar, and entrepreneurship incubation via JUIC-CRCE, we build a pipeline of skilled researchers, innovators, and thought leaders. Scholars engage in high-profile competitions, hackathons, and translational projects, gaining practical exposure while contributing to impactful outputs like patents, spin-offs, and policy recommendations.
Join Our PhD & Research Programmes
The following are a few of the salient features of the research policy:
Our research strategy is validated through tangible achievements:
Peer-reviewed papers across CNMS, CRPAS, aerospace, and biosciences
National and international patents in nanocatalysis, wireless avionics systems, and fire safety innovations
Incubated ventures through JUIC-CRCE, including tech-focused and service-oriented enterprises
Consultancy and training initiatives in Myanmar, Thailand, and global collaborations
These outputs demonstrate that our strategies are not theoretical but tested, impactful, and scalable. For JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), strategy is not a static document but a living ecosystem, driving ideas, discoveries, and outcomes that define the future of research.
