Interior Design

The Bachelor of Science (Honours / Research) in Interior Design at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is a four-year, NEP 2020–aligned undergraduate programme delivered under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The programme integrates creative design thinking with technical proficiency, sustainability, and research-led inquiry to prepare students for contemporary and future interior design challenges.

Rooted in studio-based pedagogy, the curriculum develops strong foundations in design principles, spatial planning, materials and construction systems, sustainability, digital design tools, and professional practice. The programme emphasises human-centred, environmentally responsive, and culturally informed design, empowering learners to create meaningful and functional interior environments.

The Department of Art & Design – Interior Design actively promotes a “GO GREEN” philosophy, embedding the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair, and Remanufacture into design thinking and practice. Graduates emerge as socially responsible, industry-ready professionals equipped for global careers or advanced academic progression.

Eligibility

A student who has passed Level 4 / Class 12 schooling (either through formal schooling or through the open school system) or its equivalent shall be eligible for admission to B.Sc. programmes. 

However, students who have not studied the requisite courses from the discipline related to the respective programmes will have to undertake the prescribed bridge course(s).
