JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) invites accomplished design educators and visionary practitioners to join the School of Design, Media and Creative Arts (SDMCA) as Professor in Design. What you'll be doing?
- Lead and mentor students and faculty in studio-based learning, collaborative projects, and creative research.
- Drive curriculum development, design pedagogy, and experiential learning initiatives.
- Spearhead innovative, industry-linked, and community-focused design programs.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations spanning sustainability, digital transformation, and social impact.
- Guide students in portfolio building, exhibitions, and real-world problem-solving through innovation labs.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, ethical practice, and fearless creativity.
Who we're looking for?
- Ph.D. in Design or a closely related discipline (e.g., Communication Design, Visual Arts, Interaction Design, Industrial/Product Design, Fashion Design).
- Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in design or relevant creative fields from recognized institutions.
- Minimum 15 years of academic, professional, or research experience in the design sector.
- At least 5 years post-Ph.D. in senior academic, leadership, or creative roles.
- Proven expertise in curriculum development, pedagogy, and mentorship.
- Impressive portfolio of design projects, exhibitions, and publications in recognized design journals.
- Visionary leadership with a strong interdisciplinary orientation and awareness of emerging trends (e.g., sustainability, social design, digital transformation).
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a creative, inclusive, and vibrant academic culture.
- Passion for engaging learners through experiential, studio-driven approaches.
