B.Sc. in Forensic Science will lead you into a lifelong fascination with human biology and the scientiﬁc investigation of crime. You will learn all about human physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology/genetics, microbiology and how each of these disciplines can be applied in forensic science. Our course also enables you to specialize in an area of your choice.
Most of the job prospects for forensic scientists are in the government sector, particularly in various law enforcement agencies such as police, the legal system, and the investigative services of the central government and state governments. Some of the job options include recording findings and collecting trace evidence from scenes of crime or accident, analyzing samples such as hair, body fluids, glass, paint, and drugs in the laboratory, applying various techniques like DNA profiling, mass spectrometry, chromatography etc. A major chunk of trained forensic scientists is hired by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), etc. Another interesting career, rather the most attractive option for forensic scientists is teaching in institutes which impart education in forensic science. Students’ can also pursue post-graduation and expand it with further research for further job high profile job opportunities.
The minimum qualification required to apply is a pass in the 10+2 examination in Science from PUC / ISC / CBSE or equivalent board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects.

Apart from the main syllabus students can opt for various Career Enhancement Programs. These Career Enhancement Programs are designed as per current industry standards. Each program spreads over two semesters and the students are evaluated at the end of each semester. Evaluation is based on internal assessment, seminars and reports.
The certification is awarded by Sports Authority of India, Government of India. The program consists of 2 months basic training to shoot fire arms at different ranges. The students are trained to maintain the fire arm, identify the firing mark of the bullet and cartridges.
The certificate is awarded by Questioned Document Laboratory, Manipal Center, Bangalore. The students are trained to identify different types of handwriting, questioned document and able to trace the accused involved in crime by looking into their handwriting. The program is beneficial in identifying forged document which provides additional knowledge apart from the curriculum.
